Vehicular movement on the Dhungadhe-Khabdi Bhanjyang road has been disrupted due to the collapse of a road near Dhungadhe Bhanjyang of Gorkha and Shahid Lakhan rural municipality-7. Sharan Shrestha, ward chair of Shaheed Lakhan-7, informed that the two-way vehicular movement has been disrupted due to the rain last night.
He said that the road, which suffered minor damage due to rain last year, was further damaged due to last night’s heavy rain as it was not repaired in time. Since last monsoon, the road has been in a risky condition, now there is no situation to operate any vehicle, big and small, four-wheelers. ’
The main road leading to Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality has been blocked, causing problems to commuters. Motorcycles and pedestrians have to travel at risk due to the collapse of the road. Although the Road Infrastructure Development Office has started the reconstruction work of the road from Saturday, the construction has been affected due to the rain.
