Tourists have started visiting Jaljala in Dhorpatan, nepal’s only hunting reserve, almost every day.
Water network can be reached from Dhorpatan Valley by crossing dense forests and large jungles. Tourists go to Jaljala to see the peaceful atmosphere and the snow ranges visible in front of the eyes. Tourists visit Jaljala, located 22 kilometers east of Dhorpatan Valley, for 12 months. Visitors visiting dhorbarah temple have also reached here. Jaljala has become an excellent destination for tourists who enjoy greenery in the rainy season and snow in the winter.
President of Dhorpatan Valley Hotel Entrepreneurs Association, Jeevan Pun, said that although domestic and foreign tourists used to visit Jaljala since September, they have been coming here for 12 months in recent times. According to him, jaljala can be reached by 18 kilometers of vehicles and four kilometers walk from Dhorpatan Valley.
Pun said that the attraction of tourists has increased after jaljala, which was hidden till a few years ago, was connected with publicity and road network. According to him, the number of tourists visiting Jaljala daily is increasing this season. According to Pun, around 3,000 tourists visit Jaljala every month.
“There may be more publicity of jaljala, now tourists have started coming from far and wide, the path from Dhorpatan Valley has become easier, peaceful environment, countless glaciers and those who want to enjoy with nature come to Jaljala,” he said. ’
At this time, due to the increase in heat, there are more people coming from the Tarai. More than two dozen mountains including Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, Manapathi, Putha, Churen, Gurja and Nilgiri can be seen from jaljala at an altitude of 3,400 meters above sea level. According to him, the hotel business has also started flourishing due to the increase in the number of tourists. Chairman Pun urged the tourists coming to Dhorpatan to contact him for the hotel the previous day.
Sudip Subedi, who came to Dhorpatan from Bhairahawa, said jaljala is very beautiful. He said that he had come to visit Dhorpatan for a week due to extreme heat in the Tarai. Subedi said that jaljala is full of natural beauty and tourists will increase if the road leading to jaljala is made easier.
He said, “It is very hot in the Terai, even if it is a few days, we came to Dhorpatan to get cold, after coming here, the hoteliers told us to reach Jaljala, initially I did not want to go to Jaljala, later when I reached there with my friends, I did not see so many mountains from one place in my lifetime, this place is not really less than heaven.” ’
Nitesh Tamang, who came from Pokhara, said that the Jaljala area is very attractive. He said that although he was afraid of taking a risky journey on the road from Burtibang Bazaar to Dhorpatan, it would be a different joy to reach Jaljala. Tamang said more and more foreign tourists could be brought in if the state could manage the roads and trekking routes. According to him, if only the road leading to Dhorpatan is managed, the number of tourists in Jaljala will increase.
In recent times, tourists visiting Dhorpatan have been reaching Bukipatan in the rainy season along with Jaljala. Bukipatan, which can be reached on a four-and-a-half-hour walk from the Valley, is very attractive. Tourists reach Bukipatan through the narrow and difficult trekking route. This year, the Industry and Tourism Office, Baglung is constructing a three-kilometre trekking route from Pakathar to Garpachheda.
Chief of the Office of Industry and Tourism, Parsingh Thapa, said that the trekking route is being constructed at a cost of Rs 2 million allocated by the Gandaki state government in the current fiscal year. According to him, the trekking route is being constructed to make it easier for tourists to reach Bukipatan.
