Dhakal urges British companies to invest in Nepal

Kathmandu. Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) President Chandra Prasad Dhakal has urged British companies to invest in Nepal.

Addressing a program organized jointly by the UK-Nepal Chamber of Commerce and The Embassy of Nepal, London in London, he said there are attractive opportunities in hydropower, tourism, agriculture, information technology, infrastructure and production sectors.

Businessmen, investors and community representatives from both the countries participated in the program organized at the Nepali Embassy in London with the aim of further strengthening the economic relations between Nepal and the UNITED Kingdom.

In his special address on the occasion, Chairman Dhakal said nepal and the UK have a historical relationship of more than 200 years and the UK has made a great contribution in recruitment, development cooperation, education and trade of Gorkha soldiers.

Stating that There is a lot of scope for investment in Nepal, he said nepal’s strategic geographical location, youth and skilled manpower, low labor cost, and expanding middle class have created an investment-friendly environment.

“There are attractive opportunities in hydropower, tourism, agriculture, information technology, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors in Nepal. Nepal has the capacity to generate more than 40,000 MW of hydropower. Clean and green energy is the future, and we invite British companies to participate in these occasions.”

Stating that nepal could be made a competitive hub of outsourcing and digital services with the skills and skills of Nepali youth in information technology, Chairman Dhakal said the FNCCI was committed to provide necessary facilitation and stable environment for investors to invest in Nepal.

Stating that the role played by the Nepali community in the UK in strengthening nepal-UK relations was commendable, Dhakal said the Nepali community could contribute more in the field of marketing of Nepali products and promotion of tourism. It is believed that the program will take trade, investment and cooperation between the two countries to a new height.
