Devotees begin to take bath at Gosainkunda

Rasuwa. Devotees have started coming to bathe in the holy pilgrimage site Gosainkunda. Devotees have started coming for the special fair of Gosainkunda, which is scheduled to begin from May 15.

According to gosainkunda area development committee, the fair will continue till The Ekadashi on June 15. The committee expects 5,000 devotees to take a holy dip at Gosainkunda this year.

Located at an altitude of 4,380 meters above sea level in the higher part of the district, the motor journey from Kathmandu to Dhunche will start on foot and reach Gosainkunda via Tiwari Bagar, Khanti, Deurali, Dimsa, Cholangpati.

According to Nepal Police, more than 250 devotees, who had come through Patanjali Yoga Samiti for ganga dussehra festival, have left for Gosainkunda this morning. According to religious beliefs, devotees visit Gosainkunda as it is a sacred pilgrimage site that must be visited even once in a lifetime.

There is a special fair for 15 days of the year, including 10 days on the special festival Ganga Dussehra and five days on the Janai Purnima festival. However, the movement of devotees has been continuing for 12 months.

Hotels are operating in many places for the accommodation of passengers. Agriculture scientist Dr Tara Bahadur Ghimire said that it has become easier to go to the pond due to the unique natural shade.
