Tanahun. Nepali Congress spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has said his party attaches high importance to development works. At a cadres’ meeting organised by the Nepali Congress Bandipur Village Working Committee here today, he said the country would move ahead on the path of development in a strong way under the nc leadership.
Mahat, a former finance minister, said there was a tendency to announce programmes in a hurry to become popular and stressed the need to control them. He said this while targeting the tendency to sow the budget. Spokesperson Mahat pointed out the need for unity in the Nepali Congress. “No one can stop the Congress from becoming the largest force in the upcoming elections if it is united,” he said. He clarified that although it was the policy of the Congress to win a majority by contesting alone, it had to do so in the circumstances of binding an alliance in the elections.
Spokesperson Mahat said that there is a compulsion to form an alliance in the formation of the government as no single party will get a majority due to the election system.
