Kathmandu. Nepal Construction Entrepreneurs Federation President Ravi Singh has said that despite various challenges, Nepal is achieving significant achievements in the water resources, road network, irrigation, aviation sectors, etc.
Addressing the 47th Conference of the Joint Construction Organization of Asian and Western Pacific Countries (IFAPCA) in Singapore on behalf of the Nepali delegation, Federation President Singh shed light on the current situation of physical infrastructure in Nepal.
Federation President Singh, who is also a former IFAPCA president, said that Nepali construction entrepreneurs are facing various difficulties in the field of physical infrastructure. Stating that Nepal’s infrastructure sector has also been a victim of the global economic slowdown, he said that the development of the infrastructure sector is indispensable to make Nepal’s economy dynamic.
Chairman Singh drew the attention of the world community to the fact that Nepal’s construction industry, like other developing countries in the world, is also directly affected by climate change. Chairman Singh informed that the excessive price increase in construction materials in the past few months has also had an adverse impact on Nepal’s construction industry.
Says that Nepal prioritizes collaboration with the government, private sector and international donors, and places special emphasis on investment in technology for the construction industry.
Chairman Singh said that collaboration between member countries of regional organizations like IFAPCA is necessary for the development of the construction industry. In the current situation where the construction industry is facing problems, the 47th IFAPCA Conference was organized in Singapore with the slogan ‘Embracing the Construction of Tomorrow’.
The 46th IFAPCA Conference was hosted by Nepal in November 2023.
IFAPCA was established in 1956 with the objectives of bringing construction professionals from the Asia and Pacific region into close contact and enhancing international brotherhood and cooperation, exchanging information on construction technology, developing and strengthening relations between the concerned governments and construction professionals to solve problems, and prioritizing the laws and regulations of the respective countries, geographical conditions, and suitable working environment for the completion of construction projects. .
IFAPCA, which is affiliated with construction organizations from 19 countries including Nepal, is headquartered in Manila, Philippines.
