Deposits of banks and financial institutions increased by 4.3 percent and loans by 6 percent

Kathmandu. Deposits in banks and financial institutions have increased by 4.3 percent. According to the eight-month details of the current fiscal year released by Nepal Rastra Bank today (Wednesday), deposits in banks and financial institutions have increased by 277.23 billion (4.3 percent).

Such deposits had increased by 435.87 billion (7.6 percent) in the same period last year. On an annual point basis, deposits in banks and financial institutions have increased by 9.5 percent in mid-Falgun.

Similarly, in mid-Falgun, the share of current, savings and term deposits in the total deposits of banks and financial institutions was 5.4 percent, 35.3 percent and 51.7 percent respectively. In the same period of the previous year, such shares were 6.5 percent, 28.0 percent and 58.7 percent respectively.

In the review period, the share of institutional deposits in the total deposits of banks and financial institutions was 35.4 percent. In mid-Falgun last year, the share of such deposits was 36.5 percent.

During the review period, credit flow from banks and financial institutions to the private sector increased by 304.82 billion (6.0 percent). Such loans had increased by 199.5 billion (4.2 percent) in the same period of the previous year.

On an annualized basis, loans from banks and financial institutions to the private sector increased by 7.7 percent in mid-Falgun 2081.

In mid-Falgun 2081, the share of loans to the non-financial institutional sector and the share of loans to the individual and household sector was 63.2 percent and 36.8 percent, respectively.

In the same period of the previous year, such shares were 63.2 percent and 36.8 percent, respectively.
