Kathmandu. The Land Rights Protection Committee has protested in Kathmandu, demanding the cancellation of all river standards. The protest was held at the Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu on Thursday at the call of the Land Rights Protection Committee.
They protested by holding placards and slogans like “Repeat the unjust road and river standards that are forcing people to settle, maintain the rights of the people’s property, and implement ISO 169.”
Speaking at the protest program, Rishiram Basyal, chairman of the Dhobikhola Corridor Affected Main Committee, accused the Supreme Court of making up a fabricated decision to leave a 20-meter area of the river bank. He said that although this problem is only seen in the Kathmandu Valley, if it is implemented throughout Nepal, millions of people will be displaced. They accused the government of creating panic in the name of standards.
