Kathmandu. In today’s meeting of the National Assembly, lawmakers have demanded an investigation into the incident of the demolition of the house of Deepak Mallik of Aurahi Rural Municipality-5 in Siraha on the pretext of holding a Mahayagya and taking action against the culprits.

MP Ghanshyam Rijal demanded action against all those involved in the incident, including Bajrangi Baba, the leader of the war crime of caste discrimination. ‘Even the soil inside the house has been dug up and thrown away, saying that the soil where Dalits live is impure,’ he said. ‘This has insulted nearly 6 million Dalits. This is against the constitution and the law.’

MP Rijal said that the heinous crime of caste discrimination committed by elected representatives has exposed the consciousness of Nepali society. Although the police took the rural municipality chairman involved in the incident, Shivaji Yadav, who was taken into custody by the police, said that the victim’s family still feels unsafe, and he drew the government’s attention to ensuring their safety.

MPs Bishnu Devi Pudasaini and Bishnu Bahadur Bishwakarma said that using a dozer on a Dalit’s house in the name of a Mahayagya was a criminal act and demanded action against those involved in the incident. MP Bishwakarma drew the government’s attention to immediately dismissing the municipal chairman and arresting the alleged Bajrangi Baba.

MP Manarupa Sharma demanded immediate action against those involved in the murder of 19-year-old Meena Pariyar of Beni Municipality, Myagdi. MP Rukmini Koirala urged the government to come up with a plan to protect citizens from non-communicable diseases.

MP Renu Chand questioned the government about where the Shaheed Dasharath Chand Health Sciences University Bill, which was passed by the National Assembly and sent to the House of Representatives, had gone. MP Bishnukumari Sapkota objected, saying that instead of encouraging sugarcane farmers of Gulmi Chhatrakot Ruru rural municipality for commercial production, they are being made to suffer under various pretexts.

MP Krishna Bahadur Rakoya drew the government’s attention to the construction of a bridge over the Bheri River connecting Chaurjahari in Rukum West and Madela in Jajarkot along the Mid-Hill Highway. MP Shree Krishna Prasad Adhikari said that it was wrong for Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka to say that load shedding would happen again from Parliament.
