Kanchanpur. Lalit Hamal of Shuklaphanta Municipality-10, Jhalari, started selling milk on his bicycle two decades ago. Do you earn by selling milk? There were many arguments. But time has proved that true perseverance and hard work never deceive.
At the beginning, friends laughed and the family also expressed concern” Lalit said, “I was determined to do professional work, I worked hard, I went ahead with the determination to do something or the other. ”
In the beginning, Lalit used to take 50 liters of milk on a bicycle to Mahendranagar market and sell it. At present, Lalit starts a dairy business in Jhalari Bazar and consumes 1,100 litres of milk daily. Milk brought by 200 farmers is bought in his dairy.
He has invested Rs 25 million in dairy business. Along with selling milk and curd from the dairy, lalmohan, penda, balmithai, rasbari, milk cake, lodge, lassi, mohi, nauni and ghee are produced and sold. More than Rs 30 million is traded in the dairy business annually. He has built a three-storey house in the market area for Rs 12 million from the earnings of his business. He says that the dream of becoming a businessman two decades ago has been successful. He has also employed five people in the dairy business.
“Initially, it was difficult to sell 50 liters of milk while running the business, it was consumed in the local market,” he said, adding, “The consumption increased after taking it to Mahendranagar, then I bought and sold 100 liters of milk, bought some furniture with rs 30,000 i sold milk, built counters, gave utensils free of cost, and later returned it.” ”
He said that the business has been continuously increasing and after that, he started making sweets with the work of heating milk by burning firewood in the stove. Lalit bought a cream separator machine after his income increased. The fridge was very much needed, I also bought it. After that, he said, it became easier to carry forward the business after receiving a grant of Rs 2 million from the Livestock Regional Directorate in 2076 BS.
He said that now he has started doing business in a modern way by installing a dairy mini plant by taking a loan of Rs 8 million from the bank. He has already repaid Rs 2 million of the loan taken from the bank. He said that the government should provide concessions in the development of electricity, machines and modern technology along with providing concessional loans from banks in a transparent manner. Lalit has demanded training to teach packaging, labeling and storage methods.
Lalit has been running a dairy business not only in Jhalari Bazaar but also in Dhangadhi of Kailali. His elder brother runs a dairy shop in Dhangadhi. He said that the business is also increasing due to the increase in the trust of the customers as they have been providing quality dairy products.
