Kathmandu. Narayani Sharma, a lawmaker from the main opposition party, the CPN (Maoist Centre), has said that it is objectionable that the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) repeatedly cuts power lines without informing the people.

Speaking during the zero hour of the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday, MP Sharma said that the people are hurt by the unannounced cutting of power lines during the summer season. She urged the NEA not to play with people’s lives. She questioned why the authority, which could have provided regular lines before with this same resource, keeps cutting lines repeatedly.

Says that it is sad that the lines are cut in this way during the summer without informing the public, and asks whether this is the reason for removing Kulman.

She said, “In such a scorching heat, the electricity authority has cut lines repeatedly without informing. People’s lives have become difficult when the lines are cut for hours like this. People are forced to come to the streets in the middle of the night. The authority cannot answer. Why is the authority, which could have provided regular lines before with this same resource, cutting lines now? It does not inform the people. Is this the reason for removing Kulman? Therefore, I would like to ask through the Honorable Speaker, why is the people’s lives being played with?” I request the Speaker to rule for the regularity of the line.’

MP Sharma requested the Speaker to rule for the regularity of the power line.
