Kathmandu. The Customs Department has emphasized that it should work to meet the target rather than collecting more revenue than last year. Speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the 73rd Customs Day, Minister Poudel emphasized that revenue should be collected as per the target.
We are under pressure in terms of revenue collection. The employees of the Customs Department should understand this. It is not just that more taxes have been collected compared to the past. In my opinion, we can meet the target. The employees should be honest in this. The current government is not just another government. This government has come to work. Friends from the private sector are now welcoming the new government. I want to say that this is not the last effort made for the private sector. This is just the beginning.
Friends from the private sector should also remind their members about revenue leakage. The Customs Department should coordinate with security agencies. Employees in the Customs Department should be evaluated solely on the basis of their work.
