Kathmandu. Ananta Prasad Timsina, chief of Kailali Customs Office, has been beaten up. Chief Timsina was beaten up in the office premises on May 15.
Timsina was beaten up by the city police in Dhangadhi sub-metropolis. Issuing a joint statement, the employees trade unions affiliated to the Ministry of Finance said, “At around 10.00 pm on 20.02.00 pm, Ananta Prasad Timsina, Chief Customs Officer of Kailali Customs Office, was beaten up by five to seven persons, including Laxman Singh Dhami, who was believed to be working as a city policeman in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, Kailali, while returning to his residence after giving necessary instructions to the employees related to the work of the office in the premises of Kailali Customs Office. The employees’ organisations working in the Ministry of Finance have drawn serious attention to the incident of being attacked with hands and lathis at various places of the body outside the surveillance area of the camera. ’
The unions have strongly condemned and condemned the inhuman and anti-law activities of entering the highly sensitive and important body of the state like the Customs Office and beating and injuring the civil servants working in the course of government work.
The employees have strongly demanded the government to immediately arrest those involved in this condemnable incident and take strict action as per the law and to create an environment to boost the morale of the employees working in the office by ensuring the safety of the workplace providing services to the employees.
Employees have said that they will be forced to protest if action is not taken against the culprits.
