Kathmandu. A crowd of devotees has gathered at Budhanilkantha in Kathmandu to celebrate Haribodhani Ekadashi. A crowd of devotees can be seen at Budhanilkantha since Tuesday morning.
Haribodhani Ekadashi is celebrated by worshipping Lord Narayan and marrying Tulsi and Damodar. Today, a special fair is being held at Budhanilkantha, Changunarayan, Bishankunarayan, Sheshnarayan, Ichangunarayan and Pashupatinath in Kathmandu. For four months from Harishayani Ekadashi to Haribodhini Ekadashi, devotees of Vishnu observe a Tulsi fast and perform special worship.
Since Lord Vishnu, who was sleeping in the Kshirsagar, awakens on the day of Ashadh Shukla Ekadashi, i.e. Harishayani Ekadashi, today’s Ekadashi is also known as Haribodhini or Prabodhini Ekadashi. .
