Kathmandu. Lawmakers from the two parties have started pointing fingers at each other in parliament at a time when questions are being raised about how long the nc-UML alliance will last.

However, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba had said a few days ago that this budget has not gone down well with me and the Nc.

After deuba’s statement, the message of formal rift was established in the ruling alliance between the NC-UML. Nc general secretary Gagan Thapa and senior leader Shekhar Koirala had been making public statements about the alternative to the government.

At present, the House of Representatives is discussing the budget presented by the government for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83 BS. In sunday’s discussion, the influential lawmakers of the NC-UML pointed fingers at each other.

Nc lawmakers Arjun Narsingh KC and Sunil Sharma accused the UML of being single-handed in the budget. They were supported by another Nepali Congress lawmaker Kanchharam Tamang. In response, UML lawmaker Surya Thapa questioned the nc ministers. Thapa said that the budget has been allocated in such a way that the prestige of late GaneshMan Singh has been damaged in some cases.

“Looking at the budget of eight to ten districts, there is a situation of 60-40 allocation. In big cities, the budget has been put in, the view tower has been given money. Now a parliamentary committee should be formed, otherwise a good governance committee should be formed. This is not only serious but also regrettable. Kc, who is also an influential leader of the Nepali Congress, said.

Another NEPALI Congress lawmaker Sunil Sharma demanded that the budget should be amended immediately. He also questioned that the people except four or five constituencies are not Nepalis. He further said, “This budget should be amended immediately. The budget should be equitable. Citizens cannot be looted from the legalway by showing the pride of power by taking this state power in their hands. ’

Sharma also accused ministers and prime ministers of looting citizens legally. “Are only the citizens of the five districts Nepalis? Are the people of Karnali, Mugu and Madhes not Nepalis? Except for five districts, the people of 72 districts are not Nepalis, do you not have any mercy? Isn’t there a little green inside? Don’t you think the people there would have been able to drink water, build broken bridges in the villages of the people there and bury borewells for irrigation?”

He also alleged that those who have become ministers have allocated the budget with the belief that they only got the votes of the people and only those who voted for them should be developed.

“Are you the leader of the country, a minister or a minister of a small group? Did you win the election alone? So why the need for an alliance? And I would like to urge the ministers who have been ministers of the NC-UML, if only the voters of five or seven constituencies have voted for the trees and the sun?

Another NEPALI Congress lawmaker Kanchharam Tamang also opposed the budget. He also took a dig at the budget allocation focusing on some districts and regions.

UML lawmaker Surya Thapa protested against the nc lawmakers’ attack on the government. He questioned the allocation of ministries handled by the Congress leaders.

“There is no budget to build demolished ward offices, they do not fit in the budget while recommending those places, and schemes related to ganeshman’s name are found in the budget without knowing that Ganeshman Singh is not respected,” he said. To my surprise, the National Planning Commission had given a ceiling of Rs 30 million. The Ministry of Urban Development is seen to be the most shaky and chaotic ministry today, no attention has been paid to raising the living standards of the people, there is also talk of sasna pieces and leaders in the market of their father Ganeshman ji, the country will move forward by allocating it in the name. Plans have to be broken. ’

Adding excited Maoist ghee

CpN (Maoist Centre) lawmakers, however, were excited when nc-UML lawmakers opened fire against each other. CpN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Aman Lal Modi, who is opposing the budget institutionally, said, “Is the finance minister of the country or rupandehi only? I just wanted to ask questions. A total of 84 projects have gone to Rupandehi from urban development and 47 projects from road to Rupandehi. Do you need taxes from the country and the budget is only in Rupandehi? What kind of practice does it have?”

He alleged that the budget of five to seven development ministries was focused on certain districts and regions.

Another Maoist lawmaker Lekhnath Dahal also accused the appropriation of creating imbalance across the country. Stating that the ruling party has allocated a lot of budget by specifying the districts and regions of certain leaders, he said such imbalance was not acceptable.

Glimpse of a possible new power coalition

While nc-UML lawmakers have been pointing fingers at each other over the budget, there is enthusiasm among the Maoists. The parliament’s discussion shows that THE UML and the NC are in power only for formalities. In recent times, the Congress is said to be working hard to consolidate the power of the 2079 electoral alliance. However, the UML is preparing to form a new government by excluding the Nc and the Maoists. For this, it is said that a way to divide the Maoists is also being explored.
