Kathmandu. The regular sitting of the Parliament, which has been stalled since May 15 over the visit visa issue, is yet to be held. Although the opposition allowed the budget to be presented on May 15, they have been obstructing the subsequent meetings again. Nepali Congress leader and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has demanded the resignation of parliament.

The Nepali Congress has been continuously trying to open the Parliament saying that parliament has been disrupted due to its leaders. However, cpn-UML and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli are not taking any initiative to open the parliament.

Nepali Congress leaders themselves are taking initiatives to open the Parliament after they realised that the UML was further damaging the Nc in the visit visa issue without trying to open the parliament. Nc President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ are also holding telephonic conversations on various occasions.

Recently, the Nepali Congress has increased its dialogue with the opposition after the CIAA filed a corruption case against Unified Socialist Party Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal.

The NC-Maoist dialogue, which started with the visit visa issue, has now joined the NCP. The CPN(UML) has been rattled after the Nepali Congress (NC) decided to take political mileage out of the visit visa case. CpN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ held discussions with NC Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka on Sunday while UML Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was inspecting the inauguration of the 24th conference of ANNFSU at Kirtipur and the construction of Kirtipur Cricket Stadium. During the inauguration of the All-Party General Assembly, Oli had indicated that attempts were being made to surround the UML in the ruling coalition as well. While Oli was indicating this, Prachanda and Khadka were looking for ways to open the parliament.

Prachanda has been sending a message that parliament can be opened through the middle way. The UML leadership fears that this dialogue will turn into a new ruling coalition. CpN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has already offered Deuba the post of Prime Minister. Prachanda has sent a message that deuba will be considered the Prime Minister till the 2084 election and he will not seek any part. He is sending a message to Deuba that he is ready to make such an agreement in writing if necessary and publicly promise to leave Deuba as prime minister by 2084.
