Kathmandu. The opposition, which made the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak the first condition in the visit visa case, has backed out from such a demand. CpN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had said that the government was positive to form an inquiry committee after a meeting of the opposition parties on Friday. This means that the government will agree to form an inquiry committee and the opposition will back down from the bottomline regarding the resignation of the Home Minister.
It is said that the UML has been rattled after the opposition parties led by the Nepali Congress and the CpN (Maoist Center) reached a mid-way agreement on the visit visa issue bypassing the ruling UML party.
The CPN(UML) has been rattled after the Nc bypassed itself and reached an understanding with the opposition parties, who were making the bottom line for the home minister’s resignation in the visit visa case.
The UML, however, insisted that the Home Minister would not resign and would not form an inquiry committee. After the separate agreement between the NC-Maoist-RSP, doubts have arisen about the continuation of the ruling alliance in the UML.
“KP Oli is a clever player in politics, what he was doing by bypassing the Congress, now it is natural for him to get upset when the Congress has also started bypassing Oli. ” the source said.
According to sources, Oli is using the AUTHORITY to intimidate the NC-Maoist and the unified socialist party. Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has been intensifying his dialogue with cpn (Maoist Centre), RASTRIYA Prajatantra Party (NCP) and Madhav Nepal’s party.
