Kathmandu. Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel has stepped up his efforts to control the health epidemic that may be seen with the onset of rain. In a meeting with the chiefs of various departments and divisions active in the preparation of epidemic disasters at the Ministry, Minister Poudel urged them to adopt timely vigilance and start necessary preparations.
“The rainy season has already started,” he said, adding, “Start preparing today on your behalf to avoid water and pest-borne epidemics.” Minister Poudel said that it is customary to be active only after the disaster, adding that this time it should not happen.
In the meeting, Minister Poudel urged the government to make preparations for the mosquito control campaign from now on to prevent the spread of dengue. Similarly, Minister Poudel urged the government to start all activities ranging from awareness to awareness, saying epidemics like diarrhoea, typhoid and fever could spread due to contaminated water after the rainy season.
He said that the Ministry is working in coordination with all the three governments as there is a need to make adequate arrangements for tightening the border points as covid-19 has been detected in countries including India. On the occasion, Minister Poudel stressed the need of making the pandemic fund effective so that the citizens get relief on time.
The meeting decided to convene a coordination meeting of all the three levels to reach the ward level effectively soon to control the epidemic. Prakash Budhathoki said.
