Consumption of petroleum products increasing in Nepalgunj region

Banke. Despite the increase in the use of electric vehicles, the consumption of petroleum products has not decreased in the Nepalgunj region. According to the statistics of the Nepal Oil Corporation Limited fuel depot in Nepalgunj, the sales rate of petroleum products has increased this year compared to last year.

Manohar DC, head of the fuel depot here, informed that the sales rate of petrol has increased by 10 percent, diesel by five percent, kerosene by four percent and LP gas by six percent compared to the same period last year.

According to him, petrol has been sold from the depot by 19,742 kiloliters, diesel by 50,798 kiloliters, kerosene by 332 kiloliters and LP gas by 31,962 kiloliters till mid-Falgun of the current fiscal year. During the same period of the previous fiscal year, 17,927 kiloliters of petrol, 48,390 kiloliters of diesel, 320 kiloliters of kerosene and 30,293 kiloliters of LP gas were sold.

The depot has a storage capacity of 970 kiloliters of petrol, 2,280 kiloliters of diesel, 140 kiloliters of kerosene and 280 kiloliters of LP gas, informed the Chief DC. The depot has been selling petroleum products to 106 dealers in Banke, Bardiya, Dang, Pyuthan and Rolpa in Lumbini Province and Salyan, Surkhet, Jumla, West Rukum, Dolpa and Jajarkot in Karnali Province.
