Construction of trekking routes and ponds through National Employment Programme

Baglung. A total of 53 people of Baglung municipality have been provided direct employment under the Prime Minister’s Employment Programme. Under the program, the construction of trekking route and irrigation pond and ‘solding’ of the road has been done in partnership with the budget with the municipality.

They were selected from among the 238 unemployed enlisted in the municipality in the last fiscal year and sold 1,400 meters of paved trekking route, four irrigation ponds and 350 meters of roads with 3.7 million wages and construction materials worth Rs 1.85 million.

According to Baglung Municipality Employment Coordinator Ram Chandra Gautam, three irrigation ponds, four trekking slopes and one road soldering have been carried out this year. A 250-metre trekking slope and an irrigation pond have been constructed along the mid-hill highway at Municipality-3.

A 250-metre trekking slope from Badakhola of Malika of Baglung Municipality-5 to Banghabate Malika and ponds were constructed at Mauribhir, Antighar and Palla Khoria. Similarly, a 450-metre trekking route up to Okhreni Chitepani Deupuja Kot Temple of Municipality-8 has been sloped.
