Kathmandu. Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal has said that the under-construction flyover at Gwarko in Lalitpur would be completed by the end of May. During an on-site inspection of the under-construction flyover at Guarco, Minister Dahal directed the construction company to complete the remaining works as soon as possible.

He said that although it took time to complete the construction due to technical problems, the results were satisfactory and preparations were underway to operate the vehicles from June 1. Although the construction started in 2078 BS, the project could not be completed on time due to technical problems, he said.

Talking to media persons during the inspection, Minister Dahal said that preparations were underway to solve the problems faced by the main highways with the onset of monsoon. He said that the available resources, including alerting the local residents and drivers for disaster mitigation, have been kept on standby and prepared to solve the problem as soon as the problem arises.

He said, “This work started from 2078. It has expired a long time ago. The deadline for this project was until April 10, but it could not be completed. This is our nepal’s first EPC model. Its technical problems are also new. Therefore, technically there must have been some lacquer and had to wait a bit due to resolving the problems that came in between. Again, we had to resume the work that had already been raised due to which it was delayed. However, the results have been good even if it is late. We are preparing to complete the vehicles by the end of May and operate the vehicles from June 1. There are problems on highways during the monsoon. The delay is due to the fact that we have to do cutting work in Daunne. ’

He said that the construction work on various highways is going on and the concerned construction companies have been urged to remain prepared in advance.
