Kathmandu. Amidst rumors of the government collapsing in Nepal, former Finance Minister and Nepali Congress spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has reached New Delhi, India. Spokesperson Mahat has visited India amid rumors that India does not like the current government.
Currently, there is intense pressure on the Nepali Congress to change the government. However, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba is looking for a suitable reason to change the government.
After reaching New Delhi, India, Mahat has said that the Nepali diaspora in India has a big role to play in strengthening the Nepali Congress. Spokesperson Mahat said this while addressing the annual gathering, interaction, training and cultural program on Nepal-India relations, BP thoughts and diaspora problems organized by the Nepali Public Relations Committee India in the Indian capital, New Delhi, on Sunday (Magh 6). He said – ‘The role played by the Nepali diaspora in India in strengthening the Congress is important, I am confident that the role they will play in the coming days to strengthen the Congress will be commendable.’
On that occasion, Dr. Mahat emphasized that all leaders and cadres should abandon individualistic mindsets to strengthen any organization. He said that individualistic thinking and self-centered tendencies are trying to dominate the party and all leaders and cadres of the Congress should work to neutralize such tendencies. Spokesperson Dr. Mahat, while discussing Nepal-India relations, said, ‘Since India is Nepal’s closest neighbor, it is natural that sometimes problems arise between the two countries. Those problems should be solved diplomatically by sitting at the negotiating table. ’
Speaking at the program, Dr. Mahat said that the current UML-Congress alliance was formed due to the unstable character of the Maoists. Emphasizing that this government should move forward according to the seven-point understanding, he also said that party president Sher Bahadur Deuba will ultimately lead the electoral government as per the understanding.
While in India, leader Mahat is also scheduled to hold political meetings. After adjourning the parliament for a long time and amending the laws through ordinances at once, the Congress had said that it brought the ordinance only after delaying it through consensus. After President Ram Chandra Poudel stopped the ordinance related to the Land Commission, it became clear that the Congress had dissented from the ordinance.
