Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) has objected to the sloganeering by lawmakers of rastriya swatantra party wearing blue scarves in the parliament session. Nepali Congress Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire expressed his objection to the rules while speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday.
Reminding that arrangements have been made to come to the parliament in a dignified dress, he questioned whether the scarves worn by the LAWMAKERS of the RASTRIYA Prajatantra Party (NSC) should be included in the dignified attire.
He asked what would be done in the coming days if someone came in half pants and some in jathabhabi dress. He drew the attention of the Speaker to warn the lawmakers who indulge in such behaviour and expel them from the parliament.
He said, “There is a provision in this parliament that it should come in a dignified dress. This is a provision made in the rules. Does the scarf that some of the respected members are wearing in this parliament now fall under the dignified dress or not? In this way, tomorrow, if someone comes wearing only half pants, comes in a dress, whatever he starts wearing, will he keep it within the dignity of parliament or not? I would like to draw the attention of the Speaker to the need for the Speaker to warn and expel the honourable members who behave in this manner. ”
The Lawmakers have been continuously obstructing Parliament demanding the resignation and a high-level inquiry committee alleging the involvement of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak in the visit visa case.
They have been obstructing parliament since May 15. Speaker Devraj Ghimire adjourned the House of Representatives for half-an-hour after lawmakers wore blue scarves and shouted slogans.
