Kathmandu. Chartered accountants have lodged complaints with the Council of Ministers and the Prime Minister’s Office alleging injustice to taxpayers in the name of full audit.

Complaints have been lodged against the inland revenue offices alleging corruption worth billions of rupees every year. In the complaint, the complainant has revealed that he is ca and working in the audit profession. The complainants had written a letter addressed to the Prime Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office on April 1, 2018.

The Prime Minister’s Office has registered the letter on May 1, 2082 and sent a letter to the Inland Revenue Department on May 29, 2082, asking it to take necessary action. According to the complaint, most of the corruption takes place in large taxpayer offices and middle-level taxpayer offices. According to the complainant, the joint secretary of the big taxpayer’s office used to take Rs 120 million annually, the under-secretary Rs 60 million and a tax officer Rs 40 million annually. According to the complaint, one joint secretary, 10 under-secretaries and 25 officers used to take money from large taxpayer offices.

In this way, the CAs have submitted to the Prime Minister the account of corruption of Rs 1.72 billion annually in the big taxpayer offices alone. “There is rampant corruption in the offices under the Inland Revenue Department. In the name of flower audit, only people are fat and the state government is weak. The trend of doing whatever work in the name of full audit and charging only money has surprised the businessmen. Most of the corruption is in large taxpayer offices and middle-level taxpayer offices. Internal Revenue Office Kalanki, Internal Revenue Office Maharajganj, Inland Revenue Office New Road, Internal Revenue Office Putalisadak, Internal Revenue Office Tripureshwor, Internal Revenue Office Baneshwor and Kalimati are the tax offices involved in extreme corruption. If there is no immediate improvement, a big storm is coming. ’

According to the complainant, the tendency of collecting money in the name of full audit has created a situation for businessmen to evade taxes. The complainant added, “In a year, the joint secretary of the big taxpayer takes Rs 120 million, only one under-secretary takes Rs 60 million and the officer takes Rs 40 million (10 under-secretaries and 25 officers in the big taxpayers only). ’

Madan Dahal, director general at the Department of Internal Revenue, said they have been complaining to various state agencies as they do not work in the tax administration. Director General Dahal told Singha Durbar, “Complaints are coming to the National Vigilance, Prime Minister’s Office, CIAA and departments. ”

According to department sources, the Department had taken departmental action a few months ago after a complaint was lodged against the Chief Tax Officer of the Inland Revenue Office, Kalanki.

There is extreme corruption in the offices under the Department of Internal Revenue. The trend of collecting money in the name of full audit has created a situation where businessmen have to evade taxes. In a year, the joint secretary of the big taxpayer takes Rs 120 million, only one under-secretary takes Rs 60 million and the officer takes Rs 40 million (10 under-secretaries and 25 officers in the big taxpayers only). Sabina Gyawali is a tax officer at the Inland Revenue Office, Kalanki. He does not know why the Finance Ministry and the Department of Internal Revenue are protecting him. The chief of the Inland Revenue Office, Maharajganj, is extremely immoral by being beaten up with bribes and the entire team there is very corrupt. Due to distortions and anomalies, businessmen are now uniting and burning extreme discontent like a fire of straw. In the name of flower audit, taxes going to the government are being reduced and extreme corruption is increasing. As soon as possible, the Ministry of Finance and the Department of Internal Revenue should get a solution immediately. As your well-wishers, we have only informed you. In such a highly corrupt environment, a large group of CA and ACCs are migrating abroad because they have to settle only after the brokerage of corrupt employees and cannot become professionals.
