Complaint filed against Securities Board at Public Accounts Committee

Kathmandu. A complaint has been filed with the Public Accounts Committee of the Parliament alleging that the Securities Board of Nepal, the apex regulatory body of the capital market, has amended the rules to benefit certain groups of merchant bankers.

In a complaint filed at the Accounts Committee on May 57, the Securities Board chairman and the board of directors have been accused of violating the directives of the accounts committee and taking the decision to harm millions of investors in the capital market.

According to the complainant, in the scheme of the Chairman of the Securities Board, the Board of Directors has amended the Schedule of the Securities Merchant Bankers Rules, 2064 to ensure the business of merchant bankers with investments of certain houses and make the investment of millions of investors unsafe.

The complainant has also requested the chairman and the board of directors of the Securities Board to investigate and take necessary action against them for violating the directives of the Public Accounts Committee. ।
