Tanahun. Compensation has been provided to 101 families affected by the construction of the 140 MW capacity Tanahun Hydropower Project under construction in Rishing Rural Municipality-1.
According to Project Head Shyamji Bhandari, in the first phase, 101 families have been provided compensation as per the decision to provide compensation to 98 families from Rishing Rural Municipality-1 and 20 families from Beten area of Byas Municipality-5. He said that the maximum compensation amount provided is Rs 3 lakh and the minimum is Rs 10 thousand.
Under Package One of the project, the construction of the dam and other structures is ongoing. A tower crane has been installed at the foundation of the dam to drain the accumulated water and the construction site has been completed. Project Chief Bhandari said, “Drilling and concreting work is ongoing in the lower coastal area of the dam construction site.”
