Kathmandu. The Infrastructure Development Committee under the House of Representatives has monitored and inspected the Ministry of Drinking Water, which caught fire. Infrastructure Development Committee Chairman Deepak Bahadur Singh and other committee members inspected the office of Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Pradeep Yadav today.
Talking to media persons after the inspection, Chairman Singh said that the incident requires an examination of everything from the wiring of the offices inside Singha Durbar and that preparations are necessary to prevent such incidents from happening again.
‘Although there was no loss of life in the said incident, there has been a huge loss of property. This incident has made it necessary to examine the wiring of the offices inside Singha Durbar,’ he said. The fire that broke out at 8:45 am on Saturday gutted three rooms of the ministry and destroyed property worth over Rs 5 million, the ministry said.
