Kathmandu. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh has emphasized the need for collective efforts to improve the quality of education. At the 29th International Conference of the Nepal English Language Teachers Association, organized in Lalitpur from today, he said that collective efforts are needed to improve the quality of education through curriculum development, teacher training and timely policy formulation.
Say that there has been a positive change in the education sector compared to the past, Deputy Prime Minister Singh mentioned that it is a good thing that there is a situation where quality education is available within the country. He also urged the association to contribute to positive changes in the field of education policy reform by formulating a policy related to the English language.
‘A collective effort is needed to improve the quality of education through the formulation of a new educational policy, curriculum development, teacher training and policy advocacy. We must work in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to ensure continuous improvement in curriculum, learning materials, and teaching methods,’ said Deputy Prime Minister Singh.
Praise the role played by the association in advancing English language education in Nepal since its establishment in 1992, Deputy Prime Minister Singh also urged it to play a more important role in enhancing English language teaching and learning in remote areas of the country.
The conference, which began today in Lalitpur, will be held for three days, according to the organizers.
