Kathmandu. Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has said that the closure of public vehicles has had a negative impact on nepal’s tourism sector. Issuing a press release today, NATTA General Secretary Yuvika Bhandari said natta’s serious attention has been drawn towards the disruption of public transport, strike and disruption of transport services in different parts of the country.

He said that the shutdown has adversely affected not only the entire passengers but also the tourism sector of Nepal. “It is a matter of concern that the recent disruption in the operation of tourist vehicles in Pokhara and some other places, the tourism capital of Nepal, is a matter of concern that banning, obstructing or controlling tourist vehicles will have a complete negative impact on the entire tourism business,” natta said in a statement.

NATTA said that such incidents have made it difficult not only for foreign tourists visiting Nepal but also for domestic tourists to reach their destinations and creating a feeling of fear, insecurity and frustration among tourists and passengers.

“Such actions are sending a wrong message to Nepal in the international tourism market and there is a danger of having a long-term impact on tourism promotion and all the stakeholders have a common responsibility to promote tourism by considering the fact that tourism is the backbone of Nepal’s prosperity,” bhandari said in a statement.

Similarly, the Tourist Bus Association of Nepal (T1) has also issued a statement today objecting to the obstruction in the tourism vehicles. Tiwan President Bhishma Neupane urged all to cooperate in the operation of tourist vehicles in a free and safe manner.

Neupane urged the government to make arrangements for the smooth operation of vehicles as such incidents would seriously affect nepal’s tourism sector.
