Kathmandu. The ship bill, which is being discussed in the Legislative Management Committee under the National Assembly, was discussed clause-by-clause on Thursday.
The committee is discussing clause-by-clause on the bill that came from the National Assembly. In Thursday’s meeting, lawmakers proposed amendments such as requiring a ship to be surveyed before operating it, and requiring a survey by an official organization.
Chapter 5 of the bill has been discussed and passed. Committee Chair Tulsa Kumari Dahal said that the lawmakers have reached an agreement on the provisions related to ship operation, ship construction, route determination and use of waterways, and ship ownership.
She said that the definition of the bill includes the transportation of passengers from any country to the sea, transportation, fishing at sea or transit at sea or activities for economic gain.
