Bhaktapur. The National Examination Board has stated that all preparations for the Class 12 examination, which will start simultaneously from today at examination centers across the country, have been completed.
Board Chairman Mahashram Sharma said that all preparations for the Class 12 examination have been completed and urged all examinees to participate in the examination with confidence. The examination will be held from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. The board has identified a total of 1,590 examination centers across the country and one in Japan for the examination, which will be conducted until Jestha 2. Chairman Sharma informed that the maximum number of centers has been determined in Kathmandu, 162, and the minimum one each in Manang-Mustang.
A similar number of center heads and assistant center heads, and about 2,000 employees, at least one office assistant and 20,000 security personnel have been mobilized for the examination based on the number of students. Chairman Sharma informed that a total of 511,525 examinees, including 198,875 regular male students and 197,133 female students from 5,202 schools, will participate in the examination, including 115,617 part-time students.
This year, the least number of examinees, 45, are participating from Manang, while the maximum number of examinees, 68,133, are participating from Kathmandu. Krishna Prasad Sharma, the board’s examination controller, informed that special arrangements have been made for candidates with hearing loss, blindness, mental retardation or other disabilities in the examination.
Similarly, arrangements have been made to give the examination to candidates in prisons or juvenile correctional homes. No one will be allowed to enter the examination center without the permission of the District Examination Coordination Committee or the Examination Controller, and arrangements have been made to immediately change the center head, assistant center head and invigilator in case of non-compliance with the examination norms. During the examination period, no one other than the center head is allowed to bring mobile phones to the examination center. The board has stated that candidates are prohibited from carrying mobile phones, smart watches and other electronic devices (except calculators without loaded documents) into the examination hall.
If teachers, staff, invigilators and candidates are found to have taken mobile phones and other prohibited materials during search/monitoring, legal action will be taken against them for violating the dignity of the examination in accordance with Section 17 91 A0 ‘F’ of the Education Act, 2028. On the first day of the examination, there will be compulsory English, Sanskrit Composition, Buddhist Studies, and Urdu Grammar subjects. The board has stated that regular and partial examinees of the general and traditional streams (the first two digits of the registration number are 78, 79, 80 and 81) and regular and partial examinees of the technical stream (the first two digits of the registration number are 79, 80, 81) will participate in the examination.
