Kathmandu. Citizens from countries including India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and others come to Nepal for eye treatment. Foreign patients have come to 28 eye hospitals and 224 eye treatment centers run by the Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh for treatment.
In 2024, 97,071 foreign citizens underwent eye examinations and 162,845 underwent surgery through the association’s network, said Dr. Shailesh Kumar Mishra, executive director of the association.
In 2024, 32,68,034 eye patients underwent eye examinations and 258,575 underwent surgery through the network. 34,425 eye patients underwent free surgery through the association’s hospitals and various external programs. The association has conducted free surgeries with the support of various national and international development partner organizations and the hospital’s internal resources.
The association has so far treated 46.868 million 60 people, including Nepalese and foreign citizens, through its network, and has performed eye surgeries on 5.392 million 224 people, said Executive Director Mishra.
