Citizen Investment Fund and Rurukshetra Rural Municipality collaborate to run citizen pension scheme for women volunteers

Kathmandu. Lumbini: An agreement has been signed between The Citizen Investment Trust and Rurukshetra Rural Municipality of Gulmi district of Lumbini Province to run the citizen pension scheme for women community health volunteers. Executive Director of the Fund Parbat Kumar Karki and Rural Municipality Chair Yadu Gyawali signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.

After signing the agreement, Fund’s Executive Director Karki said that the money of the participants in the pension scheme will be safe and they will get pension facility after retirement. He urged the local residents of other areas to participate in the programme.

Similarly, rural municipality chair Gyawali opined that local residents would participate.

As per the agreement, rs 830 per month will be deposited from the welfare fund of the volunteers run by Rurukshetra rural municipality under the management of the Women Community Health Volunteer Welfare Fund of the municipality.

Provision has been made to provide the amount of personal account or any other loan or concession to the concerned person or entitlement only on the basis of the recommendation of the municipality under the management of the Volunteer Welfare Fund operated by the municipality.

According to the agreement, the volunteers participating in this scheme should be provided pension on the basis of the amount deposited on behalf of the volunteers and the municipality on the basis of the amount deposited on behalf of the volunteers and the municipality after reaching the age of 60 years.

According to the fund, up to 80 percent of the amount deposited after the completion of five years of participation in the citizen pension scheme can be provided to the participants based on the recommendation of the municipality.
