Kathmandu. CpN (Maoist Centre) Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey has expressed dissatisfaction over the budget of the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens. Pandey said this while participating in the discussion on the Appropriation Bill in the Meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday.
He said that the budget of the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens is not only unbalanced and biased, but also does not include issues related to children and senior citizens in a strategic way. Stating that children are the captains of the nation, he said that there is a lack of programs focused on their education, culture and skills in the budget.
“The budget of the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens is unbalanced and biased. This allocation does not seriously cover the issues that need to be strategically covered by our children and senior citizens. Children are the captains of this country. How do we educate our children? What culture and skills do we teach? On the basis of that, our future country will move forward. That’s why it’s related to children and women who have been left behind for centuries. Some of our feudal cultures have left women behind. The allocation of the concerned ministry is also not balanced. It has not even come up with some programmes to meet its strategic objectives. ’
He said that the ministry’s budget has not done justice to women.
