Chief Minister Singh urges to maintain social harmony in Birgunj

Birgunj. Madhesh Pradesh Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh has called for maintaining social harmony in the difficult situation arising from the conflict on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.

The Chief Minister’s Press Advisor Anil Kumar Karna said in a press release today that the concerned administrative and police officials are in constant contact with the concerned parties to facilitate the life of the people by discussing the misadventures that were made to create tension and incite violence during the procession taken out in Birgunj on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti and the subsequent developments.

‘Since peace and tolerance can be maintained only through respect and brotherhood among all religious, cultural and ethnic communities of the society, the police administration has been directed to investigate and bring to book anyone involved in spreading communal unrest and violence. The press release states, “I appreciate the serious and meaningful efforts made by political parties, civil society and the police administration to ensure social harmony and tolerance in Birgunj.”

The press release issued quoting Chief Minister Singh said that Birgunj, the industrial city of the country, is an incredible city in terms of religious and cultural diversity and since it is the power of Madhes, the act of destroying it under any pretext is sad, worrying and unfortunate.

Meanwhile, Minister for Water Supply Pradeep Yadav has also requested the local administration to act according to the law to punish anyone who disturbs peace and harmony in Birgunj, makes inflammatory statements, vandalizes public or private property, sets fire or commits indecency through social media Facebook. .

‘Since the tension erupted in my city, I have been in constant contact with the administration and police of Parsa district,’ the social media post reads. ‘I am trying to establish peace by coordinating and consulting with leaders of various communities.’

Minister Yadav also recalled that there has been a glorious tradition of celebrating festivals and traveling together, maintaining cooperation and harmony between communities in the Birgunj region.

‘Due to the understanding and understanding of the residents here, mutual tensions or misunderstandings that arise have been resolved through mutual dialogue in the past. This metropolis is a common flower garden for everyone. “Maintaining peace, harmony and reconciliation here is the common responsibility of everyone,” Minister Yadav said.

Parsa Police Chief Gautam Mishra informed that four people involved in vandalism on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti last Saturday have been arrested and necessary investigations have been conducted. “Four people from both communities involved in the vandalism have been arrested. We are also searching for others,” he said. “Two people who broke the prohibitory order and demonstrated in front of the Parsa Police Office on Tuesday have also been arrested.”

Three media persons from Parsa were injured in a demonstration held at the police office on Tuesday evening while breaking the prohibitory order. The injured journalists include Arjun Gupta, Anil Ojha and Dhirendra Tiwari, according to the Parsa branch of the Federation of Nepali Journalists.

Police have stated that protesters are still burning tires and protesting in various places where police are absent in Birgunj metropolis and surrounding areas.
