Kathmandu. Kailali Customs Office Chief Ananta Prasad Timsina has been attacked. Customs agents and employees took a pen down on Monday in protest.

The city police of Kailali Sub-Metropolitan City had beaten up the employees at 10 pm on May 10 while giving instructions to the employees at the workplace. The city police took them to a place where they could not be seen with CCTV cameras and beat them up. The employees have been agitating against the lack of action against the culprits despite the planned attack on the employees.

Employees said they will be able to pen from 10 am to 1 pm on Monday. Umesh Shrestha, chief customs officer at Biratnagar Customs Office, said that the employees and customs agents have been taking pen down since morning. According to him, the customs check has been stopped across the country at the request of the employees’ trade union.

Issuing a press release on Sunday, the Departmental Working Committee of The Nepal Civil Servants’ Organization threatened to launch an agitation if the Ministry of Finance and the Nepal Nizamati Employees Union Departmental Working Committee did not take action against the culprits.
