Kathmandu. Nepal Oil Corporation Executive Director Chandika Bhatta has started to fail under the leadership of the corporation. Within a few months of Bhatta becoming the Executive Director, problems have arisen in the circulation of petroleum products.

On Monday morning, long lines of service recipients formed at the petrol pumps operated by the Nepal Army, Nepal Police Joint Cooperative and the Armed Police Force. Some service users have been waiting in line since 6 am for three hours to fill their vehicles with fuel.

The problem with distribution has arisen after the drivers of the tankers transporting fuel started a strike. The workers have said that tanker drivers at Nepal Oil Corporation have been forced to work without essential services for a long time.

To solve the problems of tanker drivers, this association has chosen the path of agitation, saying that despite repeated requests to the Nepal Oil Corporation Central Office and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, their demands have not been addressed.

Since there has been no hearing despite repeated requests including letters for a long time, if this demand is not addressed, all tanker workers across Nepal will be forced to abandon their work and go on strike, the statement said. .

The workers have been holding protest programs since Jestha 32. The workers, who initially protested by wearing black armbands, protested on Asar 1 by using black flags on their vehicles. Since Asad 2, they have completely stopped working and handed over the keys of the vehicle to the tanker owner.

The workers’ movement has forced service recipients to wait in long lines at petrol pumps.

These are the workers’ Demands

1. All tanker drivers/co-drivers should be given appointment letters as per the Labor Act and the salary as prescribed by the Government of Nepal should be arranged

2. The double bank guarantee and annual renewal applied only in the case of self-employment should be abolished,

3. Temperature should be managed properly

4. Arrangements should be made for affiliation to the Social Security Fund

5. The double case of more than 50 liters in the name should be dismissed

6. Risk allowance should be managed for the driver and co-driver

7. Drivers and co-drivers should be provided with safety awareness training every 3 months.
