Kathmandu. CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has accused Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of being a ‘master’ of violating the law and the constitution.

Speaking at an interaction program on ‘Land-Related Ordinances’ organized in Kathmandu on Friday, Chairman Nepal accused Prime Minister Oli of having no regard for the law and the constitution.

He said that the history of dissolving the House of Representatives based on a provision that is not in the constitution is not old. He argued that there is no room to hope that the ordinance was brought with the right motive by the Prime Minister, who has a background of not respecting the law.

He said that the government should not bring an ordinance without even withdrawing the bill under consideration in the parliamentary committee. He also accused the government of violating parliamentary procedure by bringing an ordinance without even withdrawing the bill that was under discussion in the parliamentary committee.

He said that the facts do not confirm that the government brought the ordinances issued at the time of convening the session of Parliament with the right intention.

He said, ‘The current Prime Minister is a ‘master’ of violating and acting in violation of the Constitution. He takes pride in that. He has no interest in the Constitution, no interest in the law, no interest in the law, and no interest in extensive discussions and consultations. The more discussions, the better. It is mandatory to follow the law. If the administrators of the state do not follow the law, they do not have the moral right to ask others to follow the law.’

‘The history of his dissolving the House of Representatives using a provision that was not in the constitution before is not old. The public considered it wrong and protested, and then he dissolved it a second time. Whether it was done with bad intentions or with good intentions, we must accept what the facts say. There is no need for us to insist on this. Because of that, the law says in the ordinance he brought that bills under consideration in the parliamentary committee cannot be brought through the ordinance while they are in the process of being discussed,’ he said.

‘Isn’t violating the law punishable? Secondly, when the parliament is not in session, if the state is suffering a great loss, then an ordinance can be brought in such a situation. But when the parliament session should have been held, he kept delaying it. And on the 18th, he was forced to call it. The parliament session was called after the opposition parties gave a joint statement,’ he said.

He accused the government of bringing the land ordinance to feed its own people rather than solving the land-related problem. He commented that the current government does not have any blueprint for the development of the country.
