Kathmandu. Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) President Chandra Prasad Dhakal has urged the government to formulate a budget as per the suggestions of the High-Level Economic Reform Commission.
At an interaction program on budget and revenue policy organized by the Ministry of Finance, Revenue Advisory Committee in Rupandehi on Saturday, Chairman Dhakal, who is also a member of the commission, said that many issues of the economy would be addressed by formulating a budget as per the commission’s suggestions.
He stressed that the budget should be brought in a way that increases production and employment based on people-centered development, current needs and priorities, and said that the government’s prioritization of revenue collection has left employment creation, production growth and import substitution issues in the background.
Chairman Dhakal said that since the internal remittance transaction has been made zero for the past two years, He stressed the need to reactivate it as the general public is facing problems in utilizing the small amounts required by small businessmen and organized organizations including schools, colleges, hospitals.
