Kathmandu. Senior Vice-Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) Rajendra Prasad Pandey has said that many lawmakers would leave the parliament as corruption cases were raised in the works made through policy decisions.
He said this while talking to media persons in the premises of the Federal Parliament Building. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against party chair and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal in the Patanjali land scam.
When asked about this, Senior Vice President Pandey said that Chairman Nepal has not committed any crime related to corruption in the purchase and sale of land. Stating that the decision to expire the term of all constitutional bodies, including the CIAA, on March 28 seems to have moved ahead in such a way that all the works could be completed in the remaining time, he said that the case against Nepal has been filed with political vengeance.
“I don’t think there is any crime linked to corruption in the purchase and sale of land belonging to our party leader and party president,” he said. At this time, it seems that this incident has happened, the decision to expire the term of all constitutional bodies, including the CIAA, on The 28th, and the compulsion to do what should be done in this period. This is political vendetta. The CIAA once raised the issue and had the right to take policy decisions with the Government of Nepal yesterday. The same bill is pending with the State Affairs Committee. The cabinet is now debating whether to give the right to make policy decisions or not. Many cases, including giribandhu tea state, have been made in policy decisions. Many people in parliament will have to leave if the policy decisions are to be prosecuted as corruption. ’
Senior Vice-President Samajbadi said that all the decisions taken by the council of ministers in the past could become corruption-related issues. He said that no prime minister or council of ministers can take big and important decisions now.
