Kathmandu. Japan’s industrial output has seen a 0.5 percent increase in recent years, the first recovery in two months.

The figures are based on preliminary data released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance, Trade and Industry on Monday. The seasonally adjusted industrial index has reached 101.8.

The ministry clarified that industries, especially those related to manufacturing equipment and vehicles, have an important role to play in this growth. The growing demand for car manufacturing patterns, excavators and passenger vehicles has had a positive impact on production.

Of the 15 major industry groups, nine saw production growth, five declined and one stabilized. The ministry has rated the overall industrial activity as “oriented towards stability, indicating improvement”.

However, non-vehicular transport equipment declined by 16.3 per cent due to declining demand for aircraft equipment.

Production in the chemical industry declined by 5.1 per cent, mainly due to scheduled maintenance, according to the ministry. Similarly, the production of electrical equipment and parts has also decreased by 3 percent.

The ministry said it was concerned that some industries had an impact on u.S. customs policies and that production and supply were being impacted.
