Kathmandu. The economy is becoming dynamic due to the trading of vehicles and shares, said Governor Mahaprasad Adhikari of the Nepal Rastra Bank. Governor Adhikari claimed that Nepal’s economy will become dynamic in a new way from the current fiscal year itself.
Addressing the 26th annual general meeting of the Society of Economic Journalists of Nepal (SEJON) on Sunday, he said that ample foundation has been laid to advance economic activities and keep the morale of the private sector high. He said, ‘Some indicators have also proven that the foundation for making the economy dynamic has been laid, the recently conducted vehicle-focused exhibitions, stock markets and other situations have also proven that something is moving.’
He said that revenue collection has also been better than the previous two years, adding that the credit flow situation is about 3 billion in Shrawan and an additional 12 billion in Bhadra. He added, “Ample foundation has been laid to move our economic activities forward in the future and to keep the morale of the private sector high.”
We have clearly received some indicators. The recently launched vehicle-focused exhibitions, stock markets and other situations have also proven that something is moving. We see that spending has been better this year in Shrawan than in previous years. The previous two years were very problematic in revenue collection. We see a lot of positivity in this Shrawan. Looking at the credit flow situation, although only about 3 billion loans were disbursed in Shrawan, an additional 12 billion loans have been disbursed till date in Bhadra. If this situation continues, we can hope that the economy will move forward in a new way from this fiscal year. The state is also undertaking policy reforms. Whatever reforms need to be made, legal reforms are being undertaken. The things that are in trouble should be improved.’
Governor Adhikari expressed confidence that the economy will become dynamic as the government is also engaged in policy reforms to remove legal difficulties. –News Agency Nepal
