Kathmandu. Canada’s incoming Prime Minister Mark Carney has vowed to win US President Donald Trump’s trade war.
The Liberal Party has responded immediately after electing Carney to succeed Prime Minister Justin Trudeau by a landslide, praising the “Canadian way of life.”
“We didn’t ask for this fight. But when someone else intervenes, Canadians are always ready to fight back,” Carney told a large crowd of party supporters in Ottawa.
‘So Americans make no mistake. “Canada will win in trade wars, just as it will in hockey,” said Carney, 59, who will succeed Trudeau in the coming days, referring to Canada’s recent victory over the United States.

In his victory speech, Carney warned that the United States, under Trump, was trying to control Canada.

‘Americans want our resources, our water, our land and our country,’ he said, adding, ‘This is a dark day that we cannot believe but the country is facing. Yes.”
Accusing Trump of attacking Canadian workers, families and businesses, he said, “We cannot let him succeed in this attack on Canada.”
“We must all stand up for each other and for the Canadian way of life,” he said.RSS
