Tikapur. A campaign to make Tikapur a city of roses has been launched on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. At a program organized here today, Sudurpaschim Province’s Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, Laxman Kishore Chaudhary, formally launched the campaign by planting rose saplings.
He suggested that just starting the campaign to make Tikapur a city of roses is not a big deal and that the municipality should focus on organizing it.
”It is a good thing to make the city beautiful by planting roses in the market,” he said. ”All citizens should help in this campaign. I also express my commitment to support and cooperation.’
Minister Chaudhary said that Tikapur Park should not be overlooked while making Tikapur Bazaar a city of roses. The Far Western Province Ministry of Social Development, Provincial Health Promotion Center has handed over Rs. 500,000 to support the campaign to make Tikapur a city of roses.
At the program, Provincial Assembly member Lalita Sunar said that the municipality’s campaign was good and that she would help make the campaign successful. Siddharth Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Krishna Prasad Neupane said that she had never seen a city of roses with a rose garden anywhere.
‘This will be the world’s first city of roses,’ she said. ‘It can also be developed in terms of tourism.’ Mayor Ramlal Dangaura Tharu appealed to everyone to help in the campaign to make Tikapur a city of roses by planting roses through labor donations and the help of others without spending any money from the Tikapur Municipality.
On the first day, rose saplings were planted in the premises of Tikapur Municipality and in the area between Khadak Chowk and Jamara Bridge. Various schools and communities have donated labor in the rose planting campaign.
