Kathmandu. President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Chandra Prasad Dhakal has commented that creating jobs, investing, paying taxes to the government, providing facilities to the common citizen and building infrastructure in Nepal is like committing a crime. He said this while addressing a program organized in Kathmandu on Friday. He mentioned that investing and building infrastructure in Nepal is viewed negatively.
He said that leaders of some political parties and some organizations are opposing development work. For whom are they doing politics in development work? He asked. He also said that it is not good to continue negativity. What is Chairman Dhakal trying to achieve by opposing those who invest, create jobs and build infrastructure? He asked.
Speaking at the program, Nepal Chamber of Commerce President Kamlesh Agrawal informed that the enthusiasm of entrepreneurs and businessmen should not be reduced and their morale should not be let down. He said that it is a matter of concern that more than 75,000 people have been blacklisted in the last two years in Nepal, which has a small economy.
He argued that the lack of courage among industrialists and businessmen to take on challenges and operate new industries and businesses will cause further problems. President Agrawal said that although the central bank has an important influence on Nepal’s economy and issues monetary policy to make the country’s economic policy successful, there has been a lack of coordination between economic policy and monetary policy for some time. He said that the private sector is suffering huge economic losses. He suggested that a skilled economist should be appointed as governor rather than one based on political beliefs.
