Kathmandu. Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi has said that building a civilized society is everyone’s duty.
He said this while speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Kathmandu on Thursday.
He said that the impact of drugs is being felt in many areas and everyone should work to control it. He asserted that drug addiction is pushing the country towards darkness. Stating that a single effort is not possible to control drugs, he said that it is necessary for the government, government and non-governmental organizations at all levels to work together.
He said, “The impact of drugs is being felt in many areas. It has a multi-sectoral impact. It is necessary for all of us to control drugs that are taking our homes, society and the entire country towards darkness. The leaders of our country are falling into trouble due to drug addiction. Its impact is huge. It is increasing violence, murder, suicide, accidents in the society. It is increasing cyber crimes. We all must stop these things together. It is the duty of all of us to build a civilized society. This is not possible with a single effort. The government, government and non-governmental organizations at all levels must work together in this work.”
Home Secretary Duwadi clarified that the government is working on making various legal provisions for drug control. He said that drug control is a priority area for the government.
