Kathmandu. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said that the size of the budget is balanced. He made the claim while presenting a proposal to start a general discussion on the budget for the upcoming fiscal year in the meeting of the House of Representatives.
He said the capital expenditure has increased by 16 percent compared to the current fiscal year. According to him, the inter-governmental finance transfer has been increased by about Rs 4 billion from the limit set by the Finance Commission.
He said that the budget has been proposed so that the revenue, the main source of income, will meet about 67 percent of the total expenditure.
Finance Minister Poudel said, “That determination to be balanced in terms of the size of the budget has been expressed in the budget. Capital expenditure has increased by 16 percent compared to the current fiscal year. The inter-governmental finance transfer has been increased by about Rs 4 billion from the limit set by the Finance Commission. The budget has been proposed so that the revenue, the main source of income, will cover about 67 percent of the total expenditure. ’
Finance Minister Poudel said that the revenue estimate towards income has been proposed to increase by 16 percent compared to the revised target.
