Kathmandu. Nepali Congress lawmaker Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that the budget is silent on removing unnecessary structures of the government and making service delivery effective.
Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel made the remarks while commenting on the budget for the fiscal year 2082/83 BS presented in the Parliament on Thursday.
Stating that the budget has failed to address the issue of speedy ing up government structures, he said the budget has also failed to address the issue of branding and commercialization of local liquor.
He said that although the working procedure had also been forwarded during his tenure as finance minister, he was silent on the issue of local liquor branding in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
“The budget is silent on speeding up government structures and removing unnecessary structures,” he said. I had also spoken about branding jaand in the budget. The procedure was also forwarded. This time the budget is silent on that too. After receiving the appropriation bill, it comes to know how much the result is. ’
He said the government’s decision not to put projects below three to remove distribution-oriented schemes was welcome.
