Nepali Congress lawmaker Narayan Prakash Saud has urged the government to formulate the budget so that the fruits of development reach the marginalized sections.
He made the request while speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday. He said that the budget is coming every year and this year too, the budget is on the eve. Stating that there has been a long-standing dispute over unbalanced development in Nepal and the lack of budget by the influential, he said how would the experienced finance minister coordinate and address the contradictions between cities and villages, accessible and remote, geography and population and the interests of the elite and voice-bearers with a strong voice? he asked.
Lawmaker Saud said that the past budgets have shown that the development index has left behind the village settlements, the remote settlements are becoming desolate and the far-western and Karnali and Madhes provinces, which are lagging behind in the country, are being neglected for development.
