Budget practical and implementable has come: Lawmakers

Kathmandu. Lawmakers have expressed the view in the House that the budget presented by the government in the parliament for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83 BS is practical and implementable. Participating in the discussion on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure for the upcoming fiscal year in the Meeting of the House of Representatives, they gave a positive response to the budget.

Udaya Shumsher JBR said that the budget allocated for the next fiscal year is practical and can be implemented. He said that the budget has been brought to encourage the frustrated private sector. Rana said that the tax exemption for start-ups for five years will encourage new entrepreneurs. “It is welcome to give priority to export promotion in the budget,” he said. Stating that rs 119 billion has been allocated for reconstruction despite the huge loss of lives and property due to the floods in 2081 BS, he said the budget was insufficient.

Lawmaker Bhagwati Chaudhary said that the budget could yield meaningful results by examining the balanced, realistic and resource assurance and possibilities and effectiveness. “There are many challenges in the implementation of the budget. Positive initiatives should be taken to fully implement the budget,” she said. Stating that the budget has planned to provide opportunities to the new generation in the country, Chaudhary said that the plan to attract the younger generation in information technology is commendable.

Lawmaker Nagina Yadav said though the budget has been brought to solve the country’s economic problems, there are challenges in its implementation. The majority could have brought a strong budget, the country could have been freed from economic problems. However, the budget has not yet come to provide quick economic benefits, he said, adding that the tax system should be simplified by enacting a federal law. He alleged that the budget was allocated ignoring the Madhes province.
